Ուսումնասիրել և համեմատել Երևանի հին և նոր թաղամասերը, Նորը՝ Հաղթանակի այգու հարեվանությամբ, թաղամասերը, ուսումնասիրել առանձնատների ճարտարապետությունը, առանձահատկություններն ու բնակիչներու պրոֆիլը և համեմատել տվեալները Երևանի ամենահին թաղամասերից՝ Կոնտի տների ճարտարապետական, բնակչության խնդիրներու և առանձնահատկություններու հետ․ Աշխատանքը նեռարելու է հաշվառում, նկարներ, տեսաերիզներ և մարդկանց հետ հարցազրույցներ․Այցը իւրաքանչիւր շրջան լինելու է երկու անգամ․ Տվեալները ի մի ենք բերելու և պատրաստելու մի փոքր տեսանյութ․

2- Այց Գյումրի

Մէկօրեայ այց Գյումրի․ Գյումրին՝ լինելով արուեստի կենտրոն, հարկ է ծանօթանալ Գյումրու պատմական և արդի հուշակոթողներին, քայլել և հայտնաբերել քաղաքի դեմքը, այցելել թանգարաններ ․ՎԵրադարձը նույն օրը․

3- Մէկ օր Դիլիջանում՝ Պարզ լիճում․ Օրը անցկացնել բացառապես բնության մէջ թափառումներով,հանգստանալով, հետաքրքիր խաղեր խաղալով և Ուտեստ պատրաստելով․

4- Յունիսի 15- 20 ։ «Բանգլադեշը 100 սովորողի աչքերով» նախագիծ Վարպետության պարապմունքներ.

Our Visit to American University of Armenia

Yesterday, on May 23, a select group of my 9th and 10th graders finally had the chance to realize one of our projects: our visit to AUA. We wanted to visit AUA to get to know the campus, talk to the admissions office, feel the whole atmosphere of the American University of Armenia to make new doors possible in the near future. We smoothly made it by public transportation and for the first time climbed those famous stairs that were built to make the trip to the university comfortable and enjoyable .Admissions office hearthily welcomed and provided a guide to show us both the main and the faculty buildings. Although we had not taken any appointment and had just dropped in, Patil, the employee at the Admissions office did not mind the unexpected visit at all, on the contrary, was very kind. She gave us two copies of the brochures for each major, graduate and undergraduate level and then the guide appeared. Miss Minelli, our guide on the tour and another warm heart, showed us the most important sites at the building. First, we went by the wall where the names of the AUA sponsers were engraved. Each name of the AUA giver was lighted as to pay due respect to all those who had made AUA become a reality. Then we entered the university acquarium. It was an anology acquarium, with special architectural solutions, a geometrical roof, transparent and soundproof wall- glasses, a haven for students in terms of comfort, advanced electronic equipment and a soundproof zone to concentrate in. Wow! Concentration! A majical word indeed. Then Miss Minelli took us to Papazian library. My girls got more amazed at the interior, the modern design and furniture reigning in the library as well. Bright green was the color we already noticed to be pleasantly present there too, with private comfortable corners and isolated soundproof rooms for study. Miss Minelly stressed that we could only whisper at the library. Then we climbed the stairs to the building where the different faculties and the classrooms were located, to the student union and its veranda. We were so impressed by the big clean private bathrooms on that building that Clia even took photos of the restrooms! Wow again! Already hit by Cupid’s arrow, we made our last “stop” at the cafeteria. The food was delicious, the menu abundant, the colors bright, comfort everywhere. We discovered we did not want to leave that place.. so cozy, so advanced…but our Ruzanne found fault at the campus, she started complaining over and over again that the plants were artificial there, but today when we talked about it, she confessed that she would want to continue her higher education at AUA, and she would solve that plant issue personally! After our visit to AUA, Clia, Sona, Inna, Anahita, Ani, Emma and last but not the least Ruzanne gained new perspectives in their lives, the promise of a hopeful and intense future crept in their minds. And that would come exclusively through education, only education!

Creating a mural at school which will include the best of the English proverbs. This project anticipates much more than one week of work, that is why I put its deadline till the end of the fourth academic year.

Ստեղծագործություն ամբողջական պատի վրա Մայր դպրոցում, ինչը կընդգրկէ Անգլերեն ասացուածքներ․Համատեղ նախագիծ Հյուսիսային դպրոցի հետ․

A joint art-English projects: Create an “English Wall” at school. We want to have an English wall at school. That is a wall which will include the best of the English proverbs. Besides we want to The projects will also be fluid. By fluid I mean I don’t know if we will be able to realise at least some of the made suggestions.

Objective: Create an English lasting environement at school. The school in this way will show it values multilinguilism and will encourage students to learn in a very subtle, yet artisitic way. The wall will include the best of the English proverbs, the wise sayings, which are not understood literally. The reader, of the proverbs, any student or a passerby, after reading the proverb, will want to know its meaning, if impressed by the work and style. This will encourage them to ask and learn, and voila! What a better way to learn!

Procedure: Grade 10 students will have to pick the proverbs in class, learn their meanings and paint the proverbs on the wall, with the help of artists/drawing teachers at school, or in collaboration with the North school staff. The colors and design should be decided jointly: North School/High School.

Results: A lasting art piece at school, which will foster the excitement of future learners, and stay on the studets’ minds all their lives, as it will be a project that will involve hand-work, artism and the idea of leaving lasting prints.

Hidden Camera Games: Play the tourist in the stores of Bangladesh

Թաքնուած Կամերա Խաղը, ուսանողը ձևացնելու է որ տուրիստ է և չի կարող արտահայտուել բացի Անգլերենից․

Objective: The students will learn and role-playing shopping of items in class, know how to explain them and go role-play a tourist in Bangladesh who wants to shop items, but knows no language other than ENglish. They will go in pairs and try to communicate with the store teller, making the item they want to buy difficult to be understood. Then the students will give feedback saying it was a hidden camera game. The students will have to keep the attempts of explaining what items they would want to shop exclusively in English. We would choose easy, average or difficult to describe items, and see how language barriers can be broken, or not broken.Plus it will be embedded with lots of fun, a driving force for the students.

Procedure: Lots of discussion in class on choosing the items to be described at stores, practicing describing them in English and mastering what is needed to say.

Results: The students will have lots of fun learning, practicing, applying their learnt exercises in a very much fun and novel way. They will learn to appreciate the value of language from being in the opposite person’s point of view.

May 20- 25 Reading Week: A week-long Project

Objective:

The objective of the project is to read a novel when in grade 10. Students in grade 10 should taste the buds of novel reading, especially as it comes to a must readbook, one novel during the academic year. It will be a chance for immense language acquisiton, vocabulary gain and having a discussion room as the novel will provide all the needed elements. Lisenting and attentive skills will be developed sharply.

Procedure: We will pick a good read from the provided link and will be engaged to read it, only read, with explanations by students.The teacher will interfere the minimum, will just be there to ensure the reading activity is going on well.

Results: Reading is a vital activity, brain exercise. The results will be a more sophisticated mind, a taste of a good piece of literature, more advanced skills in the language, learning to engage in a group activity and be part of team work. Students will put together book summary, which will be a task divided among them.

Grade 9 is to read To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. https://novels77.com/2434681-to-kill-a-mockingbird.html#list-chapter . With over 18 million copies in print and translated into forty languages, a simple love story, grade 9 students will taste one of the masterpieces of American literature.

Objective: The objective of the project is to engage our 9th graders in a long-term reading process and make them read one of the masterpieces of literature which was an instant success: ” To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. Instantly successful, widely read in high schools and middle schools in the United States, it has become a classic of modern American literature, winning the Pulitzer Prize. Wikipedia ” The Objective of a reading project for grade 9 students is to make them relax and work at the same time prior to taking their joint- governmental exams.

Procedure: The students will have nothing much to do , simply press on the link and start reading the novel. The key words only will be explained while reading. The students will have to follow the text and read out loud in a hearable voice. If there will be time, we’ll watch the movie based on the novel.

Results: Grade 9 students will relax and learn at the same time. It is a good way to focus on a language and gain allthrough having fun at the same time. The students will learn to relate to universal problems and see what concerns them concerns anyone, anywhere in the world. When they watch the movie, their listening skills will also develop, as it will be easier to uderstand the movie after having read it.

Open Class, Grade 10 Opens up: Truth or Dare!

Would you dare or tell the Truth! We did that on May 13! When the sky was bluer than blue and the sun was shining at its brightest, we, grade 10 class, headed to the nearby park to enjoy the well-known game, Truth or Dare. Together, we had brainstormed and prepared some of the questions and commands on the game, then I continued to pile 16 by 16 cards with the help of my daughter. To see who is a daring teller, who a daring doer! It was so much fun playing a game that had the element of chance which kept them excited, and the chande to open up and share points of view, being more transparent to each other how. It was a great way to get to know each other better.Of course, they had to read and understand the text on the cards,but, they all did it willingly, without any reluctance, as language came as a means to self-exposure and not a subject to learn in the walls of the school.

Մայիսի 14։ 10 րդ դասարանի նաև 9րդի- ընտրության- ուսանողները կանցկացնեն բացօդեայ դասեր՝ և կխաղան Դերակատարության խաղ, If I were … I would do this…. նաև bottleխաղը, նախորոք կազմած լինելով ” Truth or Dare ” , “Համարձակվիր կամ ասա՛,” խաղը․

Մայիսի 16։ 10րդ դասարանցիները կթափառին Պանկլատեշում, ձևացնելով տուրիստներ են․ Կփորձեն հարցնել դպրոցի մասին,թէ ինչպես պետք է հասնեն դպրոց, դպրոցի մասին կարծիք կհարցնեն․9րդ ընտրովի նույն ձևով կկատարի թափարումներ, տուրիստի դիմակներու ներքև․

Մայիսի 17։ 10րդի հետ կկատարենք հիշողություններու մատյանի գրառումներ։9րդի ուսանողներու հետ կմեկնենք Ամերիկյան Համալսարան.

Արդյունքներ՝ Կատարեցինք Բացօդեայ դասեր, ուսանողները խաղացին մեր պատրաստած հարցերը՝ Համարձակուիր կամ Անկեղծացիր (Truth or Dare). Իրականում շատ հաճելի էր մաքուր օդում, հիասքանչ եղանակում խաղալ և վայելել թէ եղանակը,թէ մոտիկ ընկերությունը, թէ խաղը, իր բոլոր նրբություններով․ Տեսանյութները՝ այստեղ։

Abigail Adams (1744-1818) was the wife of Founding Father John Adams. While he attended the Continental Congress in Philadelphia in 1776, Abigail wrote to her husband often. Below is part of her letter from March 31, 1776.

I long to hear that you have declared an independency. And, by the way, in the new code of laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make, I desire you would remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the husbands. Remember, all men would be tyrants if they could. Domestic violence is violence at home. It occurs all over the world. It’s commited by a person towards intimate partner. The victims of domestic violence in large part are women and children. Domestic violence is not only physical abuse but also psychological and causes many emotional, physical, psychological and mental health problems.

The violence can have short-term and long-term effects. The short-term physical effects of violence can include bruises, cuts, broken bones, or injuries to organs and other parts inside of body.

The long-term effects of violence can be asthma, chronic pain, digestive problems such as stomach ulcers, heart problems, nightmares and problems sleeping, migraine headaches (a migraine headache is usually an intense, throbbing pain on one, or sometimes, both sides of the head), stress, problems with the immune system and more.

Many women also have mental health problems after violence. Long-term mental health effects of violence against women can include: post-traumatic stress disorder (this can be a result of experiencing trauma or having a shocking or scary experience, such as sexual assault or physical abuse), depression, anxiety. Other effects can include shutting people out, not wanting to do things you once enjoyed, not being able to trust others, and having low-esteem.

Many women who have experienced violence cope with this trauma by using drugs, drinking alcohol, smoking, or overeating. Research shows that about 90% of women with substance use problems had experienced physical or sexual violence.

I think that domestic violence is unsolvable problem. The only solution depends on the person who commits violence more than the person who is being abused. The person who commits it should understand that it’s wrong to beat your wife/husband, kid or someone else. For thoese who are being abused can call 911 for help, but would thay?
